HOUSTON -- Leslie Alexander, the owner of the Houston Rockets, says the best way to deal with Clippers owner Donald Sterling is for the NBA to allow all the players to become unrestricted free agents.
He made the suggestions in an interview with Houston Chronicle sports blogger Jonathan Feigen.
Sterling's voice is reportedly on a tape on which he goes on a prolonged racist rant about his players. Alexander called the comments disgusting.
Alexander told the Houston paper the free agency would force Sterling to sell the team.
“This kind of behavior can’t be allowed in the NBA by owners, players or anybody,” Alexander said. “This guy has no place in the family of the NBA. Whatever it takes, we have to make sure this kind of event never happens again.”
