ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Greece's Parliament has cleared the way for charges to be brought against the last four lawmakers from the Nazi-inspired Golden Dawn party who have not yet been prosecuted or jailed for alleged criminal activities.

Lawmakers voted Wednesday to lift immunity from prosecution for Antonios Gregos, Constantinos Barbaroussis, Polyvios Zissimopoulos and Artemios Matthaiopoulos. Judges want to charge them with running a criminal organization.

Another seven of the party's 16 lawmakers face the same charge, while five more — including leader Nikolaos Michaloliakos — have been jailed pending trial.

All deny wrongdoing, and say they are being persecuted for their beliefs.

Authorities cracked down on Golden Dawn after a party volunteer was arrested last year for the slaying of an anti-fascist musician. Once marginal, Golden Dawn is Greece's fourth most popular party.
