BAGHDAD (AP) — More than 40 people have been killed in a series of attacks in Iraq.
Authorities say the deadliest of today's bombings happened at a funeral 35 miles north of Baghdad. Sixteen people were killed and 20 were wounded inside a mourning tent at a funeral for an anti-al-Qaida Sunni militiaman who died of natural causes two days ago.
In Baghdad, a series of bombings killed at least 25 people.
The deadliest attack in the city happened when a car bomb exploded in an outdoor market, killing five shoppers and wounding 12.
