HOUSTON – Four people were injured after a Metro bus slammed into a mobile home while trying to avoid an accident with another vehicle Sunday evening.

According to a Metro Public Information Officer, it happened at around 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of on Tierwester and Corder on Houston's southeast side.

Metro Police said it started when a driver ran a stop sign causing the bus to swerve and collide into the mobile home.

Now the bus has been hauled away, but caution tape can be seen surrounding it the scene. It’s because of all the mass amounts of debris left behind.

The crash left a gaping hole now covered in blue tarp.

Scene video from overnight showed the bus that slammed into the house, just sticking out the side of it.

Luckily, no one was inside.

“Wow, it sounded like a bomb going off, when the bus hit the house,” said neighbor, Al Brown.

And the three passengers on board the bus were taken to a hospital and are expected to be OK.

The driver was seriously hurt, but he’s expected to survive.
