I'm not asking for snow, but a little cool air would be nice right about NOW!
Heck, I'd even take highs in the 80s as long as it came with some dry air. Even a little drop in humidity (the amount of moisture in the air) would make things feel a lot better. That's because your body cools itself as sweat evaporates off you skin. When its humid like it has been all summer long, less sweat evaporates, making it more difficult for your body to cool itself. A drop in humidity means more cooling for your body and you feel like a litter of puppies on Christmas morning.
It is September, and we usually do get our first little taste of cooler, drier air with at least a weak cool front this time of year. In fact, some cooler air will head south out of Canada later this week. But for the moment, that cooler, drier, wonderful fall air is forecast to stay north of the Houston area. Trust me, I'll let you know when I think that first break in the summer heat is coming.
I'm ALWAYS on the lookout for it. See you on the news at 10!
