I am always watching the sky. Always have, always will. There are so many clues to what's coming our way up there. High cirrus clouds and condensation trails that hang in the sky for hours means the upper levels are getting saturated, and rain is expected the next day or two. Today though, it's the 'towering' cumulous that gives it away.
We've heated up to the point where these innocent little cumulous clouds are beginning to rise, like hot air balloons. As they rise they cool, but at a slower rate than the surrounding clear air and create what you see in the picture. This 'clue' from mother nature usually means to expect at least a few showers and storms this afternoon. Happy Labor Day everybody!
