Dad sees Facebook video of his kid stealing Christmas decorations

A lot of people were angry about a Facebook video that showed some young people brazenly vandalizing and stealing Christmas decorations from a home in Centennial, Colorado.

One of them was a dad.

Not just any dad, but the father of one of the people shown in the video.

The video showed two people apparently ripping out Christmas lights before snatching a festive dinosaur and cramming it inside the back of a sedan and speeding off.

That out-of-state dad saw the video on Facebook thanks to an older brother who alerted him.

As soon as he saw it, he boarded a plane to Colorado. Within four hours, eight people from two different families were on the doorstep of the Christmas light display owner, accepting responsibility for their actions alongside their "equally embarrassed and ashamed parents."

The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office cited three people in connection with the vandalism and issued them summonses: a 27-year-old, a 22-year-old, and a 21-year-old.

They will be fined for charges ranging from theft to criminal mischief and trespassing.

They also apologized to the owner of the display.
