AUSTIN -- Police have released the names of two people who died in a pin-in crash at Balcones Woods and Research Blvd. in North Austin on Tuesday, and a third person has been charged with DWI.

Lynne Clopton, 46, was pronounced dead at the scene. James Clopton, 49, was transported to University Medical Center Brackenridge with life-threatening injuries and later died.

A third person refused treatment on the scene.

Police say around 2:30 p.m., a Ford Escape was heading northbound on the Research service road and a silver Honda Civic, driven by James Clopton, was heading eastbound on Balcones Woods when they collided. Lynne Clopton was a passenger in the Honda.

The driver of the Ford Escape was identified as 40-year-old Melissa Marshall. Police arrested and charged Marshall with DWI. Other charges are pending.

Police have not determined which driver ran the red light.
