AUSTIN -- An arctic blast hit Central Texas Friday morning.
Lightning and rain came into the area Thursday evening. The arctic cold front moved in around 1 a.m. Friday.
Temperatures dropped down to the 40s and 30s. There is a slight possibility for sleet in parts of the Hill Country. This is the strongest front of the season so far, meteorologists say.
Expect the temperatures to remain cold through Monday. Things will warm up to the 50s next week, but lows are expected to be in the 30s.
