ROUND ROCK, Texas -- Authorities in Round Rock used canine units, street barricades, and a police helicopter to look for two men described as "armed and dangerous."

It's believed they stole multiple weapons from a construction van.

Police spent Saturday evening searching the area just west of Interstate-35, off Old Settlers Boulevard, near Chisholm Trail Road.

Round Rock Police spokesperson Dee Carver says two Hispanic men burglarized a ROMCO Equipment Co. Construction van just after 4 p.m. Saturday. Carver says the business is closed on Saturday but a ROMCO employee was driving by and noticed the 2 men stealing from the van and loading items onto another white van. The suspects ran away into a nearby wooded area, leaving their van behind but taking with them 2 handguns from the ROMCO truck.

After several hours police were unable to locate the suspects in the immediate area and lifted the perimeter. Detectives are now questioning witnesses and processing the suspect's van for fingerprints and information.

Both men are wearing white shirts, with one of them in blue Dickey pants.

It is unknown why the handguns were on the ROMCO truck in the first place.
