AUSTIN -- Numbers for Austin's no-refusal New Year's weekend are in.
Austin police made 31 arrests Monday night, New Year's Eve -- 24 males and seven females. Eleven of those people were given a breathalyzer test; 20 had their blood drawn. Three were arrested for felonies.
The no-refusal program began Friday night and lasted until 5 a.m. Tuesday. With the initiative, the Austin Police Department was allowed to get a blood search warrant for anyone who refused a breathalyzer test.
There were 103 arrests during the entire no-refusal weekend.
