AUSTIN -- A house fire in North Austin has been ruled accidental.
According to a spokesperson from the Austin Fire Department, a fire on Sparta Lane in North Austin appears to have started from a problem with the construction of a fireplace.
The Tuesday morning fire displaced a family of four staying with extended family. Residents were awakened by a smoke detector and were able to escape without injury.
The fire heavily damaged the home's attic and roof. Damages are estimated at $105,000.
