FORT WORTH — The City of Fort Worth is blaming Monday evening's city-wide 911 outage on a power interruption.

At 6:15 p.m., the city's 911 call center lost power.

At 6:39 p.m., they were able to start rolling 911 calls to the City of Arlington dispatch center. Arlington call takers answered Fort Worth's calls and communicated with officers until 6:56 p.m., when service to the police side of the call center was restored.

It took more than an hour for the entire system to come back online at 7:20 p.m.

It is unclear what led to the power interruption, but the outage is being called "extremely rare" by fire and police sources.
