SAN ANTONIO -- Investigators say a man whose disguise includes a wig and scarf was arrested on Monday night in connection to several armed robberies.
"We have our guy," said San Antonio police Sgt. Daniel Alonzo.
Ahmad Nelson, 32, was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.
"We immediately recognized an M.O. of a black male wearing a wig and a scarf all in black clothing," Alonzo said.
Police said his last hit was on Sunday before noon. They said Nelson walked into the Sunglow gas station in the 2800 block of Guadalupe with a fully-loaded black handgun.
"He approached, threatened the employees and would get cash only from the register," Alonzo said.
Police said Nelson is also responsible for an aggravated robbery from Jan. 6 at a gas station on the 1800 block of Bandera.
"We discovered that this individual was staying at the 900 block of Angela," Alonzo said. "We took him down on the street without incident."
Detectives said they are reviewing surveillance video from other aggravated robberies and believe Nelson is a serial robber they've been seeking.
"It feels good that we can walk these arrests warrants and get them off the street," Alonzo said.
