Some U.S. military members heading back to Afghanistan got a big surprise Tuesday.
The bus that was taking them to the airport took a bit of a detour. Instead of heading right to the airport, they ended up at Cowboys Stadium instead.
The Dallas Cowboys played host to the service members, who had been back in Texas for some "R and R."
"I was expecting being on the plane and heading to Afghanistan," one soldier said. "It was a great experience. I was not expecting to be here. It was awesome."
Players autographed hats and footballs for the troops.
Service members even posed with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.
The group will return home from their current tour in May 2012.
