SEGUIN -- A New Braunfels mom found herself delivering her own baby when the little one just couldn't wait to make it to a Seguin hospital.

Turns out, the couple made a pit stop at a fire station with their miracle on board.

As luck would have it, the crew from Fire Station No. 3 was getting ready to leave for a call when mom, dad, and baby showed up minutes before they left.

It was an unexpected miracle; baby Neveah was ready to see the world, and on her own terms.

"My due date was on March 21st," Brenda Irvin said. "She said 'No way.'"

It was Tuesday morning when Brenda Irvin and her fiancé found themselves rushing to their doctor's hospital in Seguin from New Braunfels.

"I told him I don't think I can make it," Irvin said.

As Irvin's contractions became a minute apart, her fiancé called the hospital to alert staff, but Naveah was calling the shots.

"I felt like I had to push, he said, 'Don't push.' I said, 'I'm not trying to push, my body is telling me to push,'" she said.

So she did. The mother of two knew exactly what to do.

"That last push, I just felt everything come out," she said. "I turned her over, so she wouldn't swallow the blood."

Newly-born Nevaeh greeted the crew from Fire Station No. 3 minutes later.

"She was holding her in her lap," said paramedic Sam Vargas. "She didn't have anything in the car to cover her with."

The crew took care of mom and baby and rushed them to the hospital, no problem.

"I never thought I would have a baby in car," Irvin said.

Mom and baby will be released from the hospital Wednesday morning.

By the way, Nevaeh's name spells out heaven backward.
