DALLAS — A 16-year-old boy struck and pinned by a vehicle outside a Dallas high school Tuesday morning was pronounced dead.
A neighbor struck the teen while making a U-turn after dropping him off at Bryan Adams High School, said Dallas police at the scene. The teen became pinned by the car.
Emergency crews extracted the boy, who was transported to Baylor Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Sr. Cpl. DeMarquis Black said the teen was not enrolled at Bryan Adams High School. He was dropped off with another teen, who is a student at the school. Officials with DISD said the teen was catching a bus from the high school to Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Magnet Center.
"They were just friends," Black said of the driver and two teens. "No one was related. She was just giving him a ride."
DISD officials said grief counselors are at Bryan Adams and Townview high schools.
