SAN ANTONIO -- The teenager accused of killing a Canyon High School classmate during a fist fight last month has been placed under house arrest, according to the teen's attorney, Joel Perez.
The 15-year-old boy, charged with aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury, was previously being held at the Guadalupe County Juvenile Detention Center. Thursday, a judge placed the teen under court-ordered house arrest.
Authorities said the young suspect punched 15-year-old Logan Davidson twice during a dispute in a hallway on campus. Davidson was knocked unconscious and, at some point, he hit his head on a wall outside his first period classroom.
Davidson was airlifted to University Hospital, where he passed away the next day. The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office said he died from blunt-force trauma to the head and ruled his death a homicide.
Davidson was a sophomore who played on the junior-varsity football team and was part of the ROTC program.
New Braunfels police said the entire attack was recorded by surveillance cameras.
The teen's next court hearing is set for Monday, Dec. 16, 2013.
