HOUSTON—Executives for the Texas Department of Transportation are seeing a big raise on their paychecks this year—more than 40-percent.
The Austin American Statesmen analyzed the agency’s salaries and found TXDOT’s top three executives average more than $250,000 a year.
Last year, state legislature approved the controversial raises amid other government cutbacks.
