A flash flood watch is in effect for Maverick, Kinney, Edwards and Val Verde Counties until 12 p.m. said KENS 5 Meteorologist, Paul Mireles.

Paul also said that their is a flood warning for Val Verde county until 10 a.m.

There is major flooding occurring along the Rio Grande at the Del Rio River, which may crest to 9.1 feet.

Paul said that is similar to the 1991 flood in the area.

Subdivisions and low lying structures near the Del Rio River are expected to flood.

In our area Friday, Paul said we can expect mostly cloudy, humid and breezy conditions.

There is a slight chance for showers in the area.

High temperatures are expected to remain in the low 90s today.

This weekend will be cloudy to partly cloudy and very warm with highs in the lower 90s, said Paul.
