SAN ANTONIO -- A local man had a rough New Year's Eve night, after getting into two separate fights and getting shot in the leg, according to the San Antonio Police Department.
Officers said the man was at a south-side party, on Sussex Avenue, when he got into an altercation and left the soiree.
According to SAPD, the man then went about four blocks north, to an apartment complex in the 400 block of Emilie St., near S.W. Military Drive.
There, police said, the man began arguing with the resident of the apartment unit. During the exchange, the resident punched and kicked him before the man pulled out a BB gun.
The resident -- protecting his wife and child -- pulled out a real gun and shot the man, at least, once in the leg, according to SAPD.
The gunshot victim was transported to San Antonio Military Medical Center.
The shooting happened around 1:15 a.m. Police said the resident will likely not face charges.
