SAPD: Off-duty officer injured after struck by vehicle

SAN ANTONIO -- An SAPD officer was injured after he was hit by a vehicle on the city's northeast side. Police said the off-duty officer was directing traffic just after midnight at an HEB plant in the 4700 block of Pan Am Freeway when a driver in a pick-up truck hit him. The officer was taken to Metro Hospital with a cut to the head in what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries. Investigators at the scene said the driver of the truck said he did not see the officer.
