ROUND ROCK -- After an ABC News report emerged Friday morning about a Round Rock High School senior who a struck deal with his art teacher, claiming if he gets 15,000 retweets on Twitter, the class' art final will be canceled, Round Rock ISD has issued a statement, saying no exams will be canceled.

After KVUE called to confirm the story, RRISD spokesperson JoyLynn Occhiuzzi emailed the following statement:

"We are very disappointed in the fact that abcnews.com did not do any fact checking regarding the Round Rock High School exam story. Our local media is committed to working with us to ensure responsible journalism. The art students at Round Rock HIgh School will be taking their final exams at the end of the month."

The original ABC News report said the student, Andrew Muennink, had until noon on May 23 to produce results.

See the tweet below. It's gotten more than 5,000 retweets so far.
