SPRINGTOWN, Texas -- A man who has already been deported from the U.S. four times was arrested Saturday for allegedly fondling a nine-year-old Springtown girl and burglarizing her residence.
A statement from the Parker County Sheriff's Office said Israel Andrade, 35, was taken into custody in connection with the incident at the girl's home.
Investigators said the girl was assaulted by an intruder who reportedly broke in through a bedroom window shortly before 6 a.m. Saturday.
After the intruder started fondling the sleeping girl, she ran screaming to her parents' bedroom, according to the statement. Family members said they noticed that cell phones and a computer had been taken from the residence, and the girl's mother had to drive to a nearby convenience store to report the crime.
Investigators said footprints led them to the suspect, who was visiting a neighbor's home. Evidence found at that location linked Andrade to the assault and burglary, investigators said. Relatives told deputies that Andrade had come to Texas from Mexico about a month ago.
Andrade was booked on charges of burglary of a habitation with intent to commit another felony, indecency with a child by sexual contact, a first-degree felony.
Records obtained from the Immigration and Naturalization Service indicated that Andrade had previously been deported from the U.S. in July 2003, February 2004, September 2009 and in December 2010, the sheriff's office said.
“How long will we have to tolerate this type of injustice," Sheriff Larry Fowler asked in a written statement. "It is time for American citizens to make a stand and begin petitioning for tighter security at our borders in order to protect our citizens.”
