AUSTIN, Texas -- Polling places in the Austin area are so far unaffected by more rain pelting Central Texas following torrential rains last week.
The Austin American-Statesman reports that all polling places in Travis County opened at 7 a.m. Tuesday as scheduled. Residents can vote at any polling place in the county, allowing for detours in case of more inclement weather.
One southeast Austin church that sheltered displaced residents immediately after last week's storms will serve as a polling place Tuesday.
Five people died in the flooding caused by heavy rains Wednesday and Thursday that dumped up to 13 inches in the region.
