BANDERA COUNTY—Bandera County Sheriff’s Office are still investigating a shooting that critically injured a child in Bandera.

Officials say around 12:45 p.m., Bandera sheriff’s deputies responded to a shooting in the 2200 block of Timbercreek Drive. Investigators say the father, a 47-year-old, was cleaning his 9mm pistol when the gun accidentally discharged. The bullet passed through a wall, and the family’s two-year-old daughter was struck in the head.

The child was transported via AirLIFE to a local hospital. She is in critical but stable condition.

Officials say a eight-year-old boy and a seven-year-old girl were also in the house at the time of the shooting.

Investigators do not know if the case will go to a grand jury or not.
