PLANO, Texas -- A north Texas man says a police officer changed his life after pulling him over.

Hayden Carlo was pulled over for an expired registration sticker in Plano.

Carlo told the officer he couldn’t afford to pay the registration fee. The officer wrote him a citation, and put a $100 bill inside.

“He helped me out when I needed it, and I appreciate that. I’ll never forget the man. It definitely restored my faith in God,” said Carlo, of Wylie.

The money helped Carlo update his registration sticker and the one on his wife’s car.

The Plano officer did not want to be identified, but his coworkers plan to honor him anyway.
