CALDWELL COUNTY, Texas -- A 3-year-old Caldwell County child who disappeared near a local creek at around 5 p.m. Tuesday was found dead later that night, according to Emergency Management Coordinator Martin Ritchey.
The Caldwell County Sheriff's Office say deputies responded to the 1400 block of Rolling Hills Drive. The caller who alerted authorities said the 3-year-old girl had been missing for about five minutes and that there was a 5-year-old boy holding on to a tree in the water.
Emergency crews searched for the child for six hours near a small creek that had flooded. Crews found her body in the area around 11 p.m. Tuesday.
Sheriff's deputies are investigating.
