MESQUITE, Texas — Police in Mesquite continue to search for the person who shot an 18-year-old girl in the face as she left work in early January.

Oak Farms Dairy has offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the shooter.

Marisol Bucio was shot as she exited the parking lot at North Mesquite Drive near Towne Centre Drive after her shift was over at about 11:02 p.m. on Jan. 8. The bullet became lodged behind Bucio's eye and was removed during surgery.

"Evidence suggests that the occupant of a passing vehicle may have fired the shot that struck the victim," said Lt. Bill Hedgepeth, a spokesman with the Mesquite Police Department, in a statement released Thursday afternoon.

Police released images and video of a four-door sedan captured by surveillance cameras at the time of the shooting. Mesquite police said the vehicle might be a Cadillac.

Authorities said Bucio may have suffered permanent eye damage.

Police have asked anyone with information pertaining to the crime or the vehicle call 972-285-6336.
