COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- More charges are being added Thursday against a kidnapping suspect that led police on a dangerous high-speed chase through Bryan and College Station, according to a report from KBTX.
Witnesses said the chase wound through a number of area streets including Texas Avenue in College Station and Boonville Road in Bryan.
Ryan Zachary Drake, 28, is now charged with three counts of felony evading, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and kidnapping.
Police said a man had reported he had been kidnapped by Drake, who had claimed he needed a ride to a hospital.
Investigators said Drake placed something against the victim’s neck, telling him to drive toward Navasota. The suspect then forced the victim out of his vehicle and drove away.
The vehicle was spotted in the Bryan-College area and police began pursuing it Wednesday night.
The chase finally ended when police said Drake drove into a wooded area off Linda Lane, south of Harvey Road.
Neighbors said he got out and ran.
The man who was originally kidnapped was released unharmed.
The investigation remains ongoing.
