DALLAS — Efforts to save a horse trapped in a Pleasant Grove creek took hours Tuesday evening.

The horse had stepped in a hole in the creek behind the 9300 block of Havencove Drive, and the water was up to its neck.

The frightened animal struggled, but rescue workers were able to hoist it up and out of the creek.

Once on the creek bed, the horse was able to stand up on its own.
