FORT WORTH — A stranger trying to help out at an accident scene in Fort Worth early Sunday morning instead became a victim.

It happened at about 2 a.m. on Interstate 35W and Rosedale Street on the city's south side after several cars stopped on the side of the road due to an accident involving an abandoned vehicle in the southbound lanes.

When 17-year-old Joshua Kaluzniak of Grandview, Texas got out of his pickup truck to help, he was hit by a vehicle and knocked over the guardrail to the street below. Investigators said it's possible that Kaluzniak was struck by a hit-and-run vehicle on Rosedale after falling.

Police said the pickup driver was arrested on suspicion of DWI.
