GARLAND -- Hal Ticknor, an 82-year-old Garland man with dementia who had been missing since early October, was found dead in a rural area outside of Seymour, Texas Friday afternoon, police believe.

Ticknor's 2007 Chevy Equinox was discovered along with a body by hunters Friday afternoon, according to Garland police spokesman Joe Harn. The body will go to the Tarrant County medical examiner for positive identification.

Ticknor, an Air Force veteran, was last seen on Oct. 11. He asked two people for directions to Garland the day he disappeared.

Seymour, Texas is located 166 miles northwest of Dallas.
