SAN MARCOS, Texas -- First responders are learning how to handle an active shooter on a bus as part of a training program being offered in Central Texas.
The training is real as it gets.
Officers are put through six different scenarios that force them to think quickly in pressure-packed situations.
“These are situations that are happening every day,” said Texas Game Warden Kevin Frazier. “If you don't think it’s going to happen in your town it will happen in your town.”
Officers in the Bus Assault Class must pass a written test at the end of training.
This all takes place at Texas State University in San Marcos.
