LONGVIEW, Texas -- A 34-year-old woman who for months faked being 15 years old and attended high school in East Texas has been freed from jail.

A judge in Longview on Tuesday sentenced Charity Johnson to 85 days in jail in a plea agreement. Johnson pleaded guilty to failure to identify.

The Gregg County Sheriff's Office says Johnson was freed later Tuesday because she was eligible for release due to time served.

New Life Christian School officials have said Johnson enrolled last October with a guardian and indicated she was 15 years old.

Johnson was staying at a Longview apartment but was kicked out and arrested May 13 when the resident discovered she was not a teenager. Police who issued a trespassing warning to Johnson later determined her true age.
