A dog food made in Texas is being recalled for a problem that could sicken dogs and their owners.

The recall includes all 10-ounce lots of "Beef Filet Squares" for dogs and "Texas Hold'ems" pet treats, made by Merrick Pet Care of Amarillo.

The food could be contaminated with salmonella.

Pets with salmonella may become lethargic, and have diarrhea, fever, or vomiting.

Humans handling the food could also become infected, if they do not thoroughly wash their hands after coming into contact with the food.

Consumers can return the food to the place of purchase for a full refund.

If you have questions, contact the company at: 800-664-7387, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.
