ADDISON, Texas — A Dallas County magistrate issued an arrest warrant Wednesday for Cowboys fullback Deon Anderson after he allegedly brandished a loaded gun at a restaurant valet parking attendant.
The warrant cites Anderson for "deadly conduct," a Class A misdemeanor, following the incident outside the Blackfinn restaurant in the 4400 block of Belt Line Road in Addison early Tuesday morning.
A statement from Addison police said officers had been told "there was a confrontation between several men and a restaurant valet."
The arrest warrant documents the complaint by one of the restaurant workers, Mekonnen Gigi, who told police that "Deon Anderson was mad because of problems with his vehicle, and accused him of tampering with his vehicle."
According to the warrant, Gigi "was in fear of bodily injury or death when Anderson displayed the firearm" after retrieving it from his car.
The warrant says police recovered a weapon from some nearby shrubs; it was loaded and a round was chambered.
Anderson and his brother were arrested after the incident. Police said they confiscated two weapons.
Anderson, 27, was arrested on outstanding traffic warrants from Irving. He was transferred to an Irving jail and released around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.
When contacted by News 8 on Tuesday evening, Anderson sounded distraught but said he did not want to talk about the incident.
Anderson's car was impounded as part of the investigation.
Anderson's brother, Devon Anderson, 25, was also arrested on charges of public intoxication.
Deon Anderson was drafted by the Cowboys in 2007. He played in every game this past season and started in 10 regular season contests.
A spokesperson for the team said Tuesday it is aware of the situation but had no comment.
