SAN ANTONIO -- A cable repairman sprung into action Tuesday evening at a north side apartment complex, saving the life of a 7-year-old boy who nearly drowned.
Augustin Arreguin had just finished installing service for a customer at the Winding Creek Apartments on Northwest Military Drive when he heard people screaming. He jumped over a fence and saw what the commotion was about: a 7-year-old boy had just been discovered floating in the pool.
Arreguin, who has a son of his own, immediately began CPR.
"That's really what got me - he's 7, my son's 6," he said. "They're almost the same size. That's all I could picture when I looked at him."
Thanks to Arreguin, the boy was breathing on his own by the time first responders arrived. He is expected to make a full recovery.
