SAN ANTONIO -- The sheriff's office is looking into an officer-involved shooting that happened just before 4 a.m in Northeast Bexar County Tuesday.

Deputies said a witness was able to write down the license-plate number of a car carrying three suspects who allegedly stole a TV and a computer from a Walmart.

When officers went to the address the vehicle was registered to, a dog charged at the deputies, according to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office.

One of the officers fatally shot the animal before placing the three suspects under arrest..

The shooting happened in the 4000 block of Coral Sunrise, near Binz-Engleman and N. Foster roads.
