AUSTIN -- Keeping bullies out of schools is the goal of a program that launched Wednesday across the Austin Independent School District.

For this year's Unity Day, the district asked students, staff and the community to wear the color orange in support of bullied victims.

The program is part of AISD's Respect for All initiative. It encourages schools to recognize and manage students' emotions, solve problems effectively and establish positive relationships.

October is National Bullying Prevention Month, but AISD schools have programs in place all year long.

In addition to wearing orange, there's another way you can help. Starting Wednesday you can report bullying to the AISD Police Department's tip line at (512) 499-TIPS.
