DALLAS -- American Airlines apologized to passengers affected by a mid-air incident that apparently started when a passenger asked for orange juice.

Earlier this month, John Reed, of California, said a flight attendant screamed at him when he asked her for orange juice on Flight 614. Reed said the flight attendant was condescending, and when he refused to go to the cockpit for a private conversation, he was given a federal warning. He was accused of threatening, intimidating and-or interfering with a flight.

Other passengers support Reed's story and they gave their side of the story to officials.

Wednesday, American said it contacted all of the passengers and has taken action against the flight attendant. American wouldn't give details on that action calling it a personnel issue.

If Reed had been found at fault, we would have gotten minute by minute details of EXACTLY what happen. However, since their flight attendant was at fault, she's get privately reprimanded and it will all just quietly go away. Some flight attendants are really getting uppity these days. I think they have forgotten what their jobs are....TO SERVE THE PASSENGERS....

I fly all the time, and the only time I fly American is when there's absolutely nothing else available. It's almost like they send their crews to see-how-rude-and-uncaring-you-can-be classes. Obviously there are exceptions, but when I've had flights cancelled at the last minute, lost bags, ridiculous fee increases for changes, and flight attendants who acted like I was imposing on them to get on their airplane, I was usually dealing with American. Southwest EARNS my business.

American is the last resort. I went to get on the plane , when they scanned my ticket they said I was already on board. excuse me I'm stand right here. They put my name on both my wife's ticket and mine when we checked in at the counter. Had to argue with them to the point of getting irrate before they would admit they were at fault and let me on the plane. Don't fly American.

All of these incidents have nothing to do with any particular airline, they are industry wide pressures caused by short staffing and inadequate training that all the airlines are now using as cost cutting. When you factor in the recently revealed fact that it has been reported that the carriers are reaping billions in profits from added passenger fees, you begin to get the true picture of an industry where the stockholders have their customers by the short hairs. Probaby the same kind of arrogant and uncaring people who sit in 1st class and demand the underpaid and overworked flight attendants jump immediately when they say boo.

texasclueless apparently can't read and lives in a world of fantasy. Billions???? Really? It scares me that some people have a license to drive as well as a voter registration card. The "underpaid and overworked flight attendant" might be underpaid but no thinking person would ever assert that he or she is overworked.

" I have flown to Europe, and have flown with other International carrriers like Emirates, British AirWays,Air France Etc. These type of treatment of passangers by these American Companies are not isolated. The worst treatment and Service i have always gotten is when I fly with these American flights. I think that much has to do with these flight Attendants belonging to a Union and how difficult it is to get them fired. Many of them are way too Arrogant, and very rude when they know that they have more rights than the passanger. When you fly in other Countries the Airliners go out of their way to even give instructions in other languages to make the passanger fell comfortable. Here in America they are very Arrogant and demand that you speak English and they treat you with contempt. I remember last week a politician aboard an Airliner called a flight Attendant the B@%*# word. I sure he said what too many of us think but do not dare to say that without being charged.
