Accident in north Austin sends two cyclists to hospital

AUSTIN, Texas -- An accident in north Austin Sunday afternoon sent two cyclists to the hospital.

Around 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon Austin police say two women were riding bikes on the shoulder of Parmer Ln. near Lakeline when a car hit them from behind.

The driver says she was swerving to avoid a box in the middle of the road.

Police say the two cyclists are now at a Round Rock hospital.

One of the women suffered serious to life-threatening injuries, the other is in stable condition.
Police are investigating, but as of now, the driver is not facing charges.
