AISD hosts meetings regarding teacher who admitted to molesting studen KVUE
On Friday, Alfredo Andrade-Gaytan, admitted to molesting a 6-year-old girl.
AISD said Andrade-Gaytan, 33, was a part of a summer program at Reilly Elementary School.
According to the affidavit, on June 11, Alfredo Andrade-Gaytan held the 6-year-old victim back from recess and told her they were going to "play a game."
The victim told her parents that evening. She reported that the incident took place in a classroom at Reilly Elementary School.
According to paperwork, the teacher first told investigators he was never in the same room with the victim. The next day, he called investigators to talk to them about "making a mistake."
AISD Police Chief said Andrade-Gaytan was arrested for aggravated sexual assault of a child and is being held with a $50,000 bond.
The Austin teacher lived in a quiet Pflugerville subdivision, and his neighbors said they were shocked to hear about his arrest.
"He seemed like a really nice guy. He was married and had two small kids. One of them is probably the age of the victim," said Andrade-Gaytan's neighbor, Carol Roll. On Sunday morning, KVUE crews saw a moving van outside his home.
AISD said they did extensive background checks on Andrade-Gayton when he was hired and every year after.
AISD scheduled three meetings for parents to talk and ask questions about the situation:
- June 16 at 8 a.m. at Reilly Elementary School
- June 16 at 6 p.m. at Reilly Elementary School
- June 17 at 6 p.m. at Walnut Creek Elementary School
