4 killed in 2-vehicle crash in Central Texas

WACO, Texas -- Four people are dead after a pickup truck slammed broadside into a car at a highway intersection east of Waco.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says the crash happened Saturday at the intersection of Farm Road 939 and U.S. 84, about 10 miles east of Waco. DPS Sr. Cpl. Charlie Morgan says the pickup truck was southbound on Farm Road 939 when it apparently ran a stop sign and slammed into the passenger side of the car, which was eastbound on U.S. 84.

Killed were the truck’s driver, 40-year-old James Mark Baize, and the car’s three passengers, 25-year-old Lori Gale Gutierrez-Johnson; 2-year-old Cinnamon Kashmein Unique Johnson; and 5-year-old Robert Elijah Nadaniel Johnson, all of Mart.

The car’s driver, 25-year-old Robert Eric Johnson of Mart, wasn’t seriously injured.
