SAPD: Man shot, killed driving away from argument in east San Antonio

 SAN ANTONIO -- Local authorities are looking into a late-night shooting that left a man dead on the east side Monday.

The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. outside a house in the 1900 block of Hays St., near N. Walters Street.

Investigators said a group of people were arguing when a couple attempted to leave the scene in their vehicle. Someone opened fire on the couple and the driver was shot in the shoulder, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

Police said the the bullet came out through the victim's chest. The female passenger was not injured.

The victim was found about a block away on N. Gevers Street. He was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center in critical condition and died a short time later.

The female witness was taken down to Public Safety Headquarters for questioning.

Investigators said, by the time they arrived, everyone involved in the argument had taken off.

No arrests were made.
