BURNET, Texas -- Burnet police have arrested Burnet High School's head baseball coach after allegations surfaced of an improper relationship with a high school student. Police arrested 28-year-old Jose Miguel Sierra Saturday.

In a news release Burnet Police Chief Paul Nelson said the crime happened around two years ago, but the allegations just came to light.

Police said the relationship developed after the Sierra started 'Snapchatting' several high school girls. Snapchat is a mobile messaging app that allows users to send pictures that disappear within seconds. The coach allegedly had an improper relationship with at least one student that he Snapchatted with.

Police said Burnet CISD employees learned about the situation and contacted Burnet police. When questioned about the alleged improper relationship by police, Sierra confessed to the relationship and resigned.

Sierra was arrested and booked at the Burnet County Jail on a felony charge of Improper Relationship Between Educator and Student. Additional charges may be filed, police say. The name of the student has not been released.

Sierra's bond is set at $30,000.

This is a developing story. The investigation is ongoing.
