San Antonio police are investigating a report of an attempted sexual attack on the city’s northeast side.

Police said they believe the alleged victim fought back by snipping off a portion of her attacker’s tongue.

The department reported that a woman alleging a sexual assault attempt called them from a stranger's home where she had sought solace.

Officers said the woman's shirt had a lot of blood on it. She directed officers to a vehicle on Cheever Boulevard, where the crime reportedly happened.

In the meantime, police get a call from a local hospital where a man had come in with a portion of his tongue detached.

The man, whose name and age have not been released, told officers that a woman cut off part of his tongue. He has not been arrested.
