Grapevine police say Chicago Bears defensive tackle Henry Melton was arrested at the Chill Sports Bar early Sunday morning after getting into a dispute with the restaurant manager.
Police spokesman Sgt. Robert Eberling said Melton, 27, erupted after being asked to leave the establishment at 814 South Main Street.
"Melton allegedly punched the restaurant manager in the face and bit him on the arm," Eberling said in a written statement.
Four restaurant staffers were needed to restrain the 295-pound NFL player until police arrived.
Melton was arrested on assault and public intoxication charges. He was cut on the nose during the altercation, but declined treatment.
The former Texas Longhorns player was released at 11 a.m. Sunday after posting bond totaling $1,210.
Chicago was scheduled to play in Philadelphia on Sunday night.
