LEWISVILLE, Texas -- Friends and the employer of Kayla Gawalek have identified her as the woman who died early Saturday morning when her pickup truck plunged into Lewisville Lake.

The 21-year-old was traveling northbound on the icy Interstate 35E bridge over the lake when the truck went out of control, over the railing and into the 50-degree water.

Lewisville Fire Department divers located the truck and a crane was used to lift it out of the lake with Gawalek still inside.

Gawalek was employed by Safran Labinal in Denton. Her Facebook page indicates she studied at North Central Texas College and graduated from Lewisville High School.

Funeral services are pending.
