SAN ANTONIO -- A woman was questioned by police but not charged Tuesday, two days after the body of her nine-month-old son was found wrapped in blankets inside a northeast side home.
Michael Rene Sanchez's body was found late Sunday night in the 5000 block of Casa Verde.
His grandmother told police she checked on him after coming to her daughter's home and not hearing him make any noise.
Neighbors told KENS 5 the mother now claims her son died sometime Saturday.
A police report indicates the woman spent part of Sunday at Sea World and told friends her youngest son was in the care of someone else.
A Child Protective Services spokeswoman said the woman has been the focus of two separate investigations since February 2012.
According to CPS records, she voluntarily allowed her children to be placed in the care of other family members in 2012.
Tuesday, CPS defended its decision not to notify the boys' father of the current investigation involving the mother.
CPS said it did not have current contact information on record for Michael Sanchez Sr., the biological father of the woman's two youngest sons.
Sanchez said the woman is married to another man, meaning even though he is the boys' biological father he is not their legal father.
911 records indicate emergency personnel responded to the woman's home 14 times since January 2012.
On August 11, first responders rushed a 7-month-old baby to the hospital after he nearly drowned in a bathtub.
An SAFD spokesman would not confirm if it was Baby Michael.
